Add an interactive visualiser

[edit]

I took inspiration on this wikipedia page to develop a visualiser that allows to navigate dynamically using a tree through the phylogenetic relationships of living felids.

[1]https://demo1.antonio-goncalves.com/

I think it could be interesting to include it on this page.

If the visualiser is included on this page I would be willing to keep it up to date.

I would be also be open to make the appropriate changes to the visualiser in order to comply with possible rules of this page. Amr.goncalves (talk) 20:16, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Add Housecat into infobox

[edit]

Hello, 1Editorguy0 here, I want to add the most common felid, the housecat, into the infobox for more links to access directly from the infobox. Thanks 1Editorguy0 (talk) 18:23, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't find this necessary. Each image in the taxobox represents a distinct genus in the family. Adding the house cate would duplicate the representation of genus Felis. - UtherSRG (talk) 22:26, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then, how about adding Cheetah into the infobox? There isn't any members of the Acinonyx genus in the infobox 1Editorguy0 (talk) 22:13, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
closer I see that the eight images represent the eight lineages as described in the article. Adding any image would require removing the image associated with that lineage already. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:14, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Structure of the article

[edit]

The structure of this article seems somewhat lacking? There's basically no discussion of their ecology at all, and the traits are in a bullet pointed list when I think this would be better treated in prose. Hemiauchenia (talk) 16:40, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Would it be better to just translate the description and ecology sections from the German version? Hemiauchenia (talk) 20:17, 24 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
